Meet the Fruges.
Stephanie and Andy’s wedding day was purely intimate - surrounded by their closest friends and family on a cliffside of Mount Magazine, overlooking the foggy hills of Arkansas.
The weather took a turn only hours before the ceremony. As Stephanie and Andy readied at The Lodges, rain and fog consumed the mountain. It was the type of fog where you could barely see 10 feet in front of yourself.
As an outdoor location, with no indoor option, there was no choice but to be ready with an umbrella on standby.
I wrapped my cameras in plastic (rain) bags, and we headed straight for the ceremony location - an amphitheater built in 1954 made of native stone and mortar.
Minutes before the ceremony, the rain turned to mist. Stephanie and Andy said their “I do’s” with their precious daughter in tow, just as Stephanie wished.
The bride and groom portraits were captured at Cameron’s Bluff, as we hiked down the road and through the trees for the perfect (and private) view.
The reception was held at the State Park’s Pavilion. It was perfectly decorated with glowing string lights, whites and greens, and candles along the walkways and tabletops.
All in all, the Fruge's wedding was a dream. A real-life dream, short and sweet.
And even though I did hit a deer after leaving the (fog engrossed) mountain that night, I would do it all over again.
